Mazzeltov

Holland’s number one Klezmer band. With their impressive mastery of their instruments, tasteful arranging and most and for all their superb vitality this group plays world-class and vivid Klezmer.

De Volkskrant, Dutch daily newspaper

Mazzeltov plays Klezmer and a lot more. People usually think of Klezmer as jumpy party-music. And indeed, on some occasions we will play on and on, until the last couple at the dance floor collapses. But we do so many other things as well. Old, quiet songs from Eastern Europe, Yiddish translations and arrangements of today’s music, Balkan grooves, gypsy music and Sefardic songs.

This band has been playing for over ten years, although there have been quite some changes in personnel. Harm, Gottfrid and Edith were among the founders of the band. Gregor, Rolinha and I joined the group later. In the current line-up, singer Rolinha Kross has a central position. She takes the group by the hand with her great vitality and she steals the hearts of the audience with her beautiful voice and warm personality.

Mazzeltov tours along the theatres in the Netherlands and Germany every year and plays regularly in the most important Dutch music halls, like the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Vredenburg.
