Hot Club de Frank

These guys are tremendous musicians. But that’s not all. They also form a great collective. Tightly playing together, disciplined in their arrangements and going mad in their improvisations. This is the top!

Up to Music, music magazine

The Hot Club de Frank is an exciting mix of Swing, Gypsy Jazz, French chansons, old Dutch jazz-songs and Eastern European rhythms. Cheerful and virtuoso!

Frank and I started this group in 1990. First as a trio with bassist Marc Doornweerd, later as quartet with bassist Eric Diepraam and drummer Dennis Kneulman and finally as a quintet with bassist Eric Bednarz, saxophone player Wim Lammen and drummer Tim Satink. In 2002 Tim left the band and violin player Jelle van Tongeren joined the group, which was the group’s last change.

These days we belong to the most well known jazz groups of the country. The radio stations really discovered our music and we play almost every year at the North Sea Jazzfestival. And every year the group makes a tour along festivals in other European countries. An international high light was a show at Montreux Jazz.
